Short abstract with content covered during RTD:

Introduction into Earth and climate history, climate archives and reconstruction, the potential of clay pans in the Atacama and Namib deserts. Practice of initial core investigations (description, logging, microscopy). Problems and solutions of core dating. The potential of phytoliths for vegetation and climate reconstruction.

What you need to participate in the course: nothing
 

Maximum number of participants: 10 (first come, first served).
PhD candidates of the CRC have priority to participate. Left spaces can be filled up by interested Postdocs of the CRC (write an email beforehand, if interested).
