On Friday the 6^th of October, geologist from the Chilenean Geological Survey (SERNAGEOMIN, Paulina Vasquez and Fernando Sepulveda Vasquez), from the UCN (Eduardo Campus), from the US (Tereca Jordan) and from Germany (Tibor Dunai, Benedikt Ritter, Volker Wennrich) organized a small meeting in Hornitos to discuss recent scientific progress in the area around the southern Río Loa and the Quillagua-Llamara basin.

Especially constraints concerning the previously dated sediments and new results were one of the major topics. To promote future collaboration between the CRC and SERNAGEOMIN, the group worked out several combined potential projects and joined fieldworks for the next years, were both parties could use their scientific expertise to focus on certain questions.
