The next few days we will share with you the exiting research conducted by our university in the Atacama Desert. The Atacama Desert stretches from the north of Chile up to the south of Peru and is the driest desert besides the polar regions. There are regions that haven’t seen a drop of rain for decades. The Chilean regions of the Atacama are examined by the Collaborative Research Centre 1211 „Earth – Evolution at the Dry Limit“ in regards to the forming and the development of landscapes and the evolution of life under such circumstances.
