Coordination of Geophysical data interpretation - Pritam Yogeshwar
My research within project A2 focuses on geophysical electromagnetic methods. These methods are an important and non-invasive tool to characterize the geological structure of the subsurface. Our goal is to use these geophysical methods, to provide larger scale spatial earth information as an addition to drilling, which often provides only point-information.
The methods we used were applied for the first time in these clay pans and proved to work extremely well.
“It was such an amazing experience, being out in the desert for a long time and being reduced to basics”
I am fascinated using geophysical methods to gain insights into the earth by only placing sensors on the earth. When we did the first measurements in one of the driest deserts, we were surprised to find thick electrical conductive deposits inside the earth sitting on top of a resistive basement
